A recent roll call question in Mr. Hill’s Video Production class was repurposed into a short video by Emerald Vision staffer Parker Hudson: “Which Emerald Ridge staff member is most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse?”

The top vote-getter in class was Mr. Henry, the ERHS security guard. Students figured his fitness would serve him well. Mr. Bates, Cirhan and Hart received multiple votes for the same reason.

Some other responses:

• Mrs. Ogden earned votes for her scientific expertise — someone who could potentially find a cure or engineer a safe haven.
• Mr. Fry was chosen for his ability to keep spirits high, entertaining everyone through the chaos.
• Dr. Dotson made the list for his gardening skills, a vital asset when food supplies run low.
• Mr. Tavern was nominated not for survival skills, but because he’d be able to lighten the mood.
• And Mrs. Read was recognized for her calm, collected demeanor and resourcefulness.
