Elise Albeso won a state wrestling title for Emerald Ridge on Friday night in the Tacoma Dome. She beat Maisie Elliott of Sumner, 3-2, in the championship match.
Albeso’s brother, Nainoa, was ER’s top finisher on the boy’s side. He advanced to the semifinals and finished fifth overall.
Emerald Ridge sent 17 wrestlers to state. The girls team finished 22nd out of 59 teams and the boys finished 24th in a 58-team field.
