Emerald Ridge High School English Language Learners (ELL) teacher Jill Cantone has been named Washington State Educator of the Year by the state Masonic Lodge Services.
Cantone received the recognition during a special presentation on Nov. 19 in the ERHS library. The award ceremony took place before school, with her peers gathered to celebrate the achievement.
Along with the honor, Cantone was awarded a $500 prize. In a memorable moment, she was presented with a surfboard-sized check to mark the occasion.
The recognition highlights Cantone’s dedication to her students and her impact on the Emerald Ridge community.
