I recently asked senior Markus Earl about the Emerald Ridge High Dungeons & Dragons Club, one of the most popular after-school activities at the school. Here’s what the dungeon master and club president had to say:
“Now you may be wondering why I’m sitting here in this wonderful throne in the library. And this is because this is the home place of all the magical tales of Dungeons & Dragons. Dungeons & Dragons is a wonderful story telling game and if you have a creative mind, I recommend
you join. It is hosted by my compatriot Ms. Obrian and I as the president and it will be hosted here at the library every Thursday from 3-5pm. Reasons why you could join are to express your creativity or come and hangout and play Magic the Gathering or
Dungeons & Dragons, of course. We here at D&D club offer various resources such as dice
towers and also dice. We also have player sheets for the players, maps for the DMs (dungeon masters), and DM screens, and also various kinds of books such as: Spelljammer, Monsters
Manual and all that.
“We’re also this year looking for more DMs so if you find yourself a creative
mind and/or a writer I highly recommend you play as a DM. We’re friendly to all DMs all
players alike and think of the library during Thursdays as a kind of safe place to enjoy your
creative freedom.”
The club’s first meeting is Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. in the ERHS library.
