Emerald Ridge High School unveiled it’s 2025-26 club lineup to students on Sept. 30 at its annual celebration of after-school activities. The Club Fair offered ERHS students more than 30 clubs, each focusing on different interests.
From the arts to technology, here’s a look what options Jags have this year:
ART CLUB – CARPENTER (Advisor)
A place for art-minded students to get together to create, discuss, and delve into the world of Art by building a strong
community of artists here at ERHS. We strive to improve the school community and environment by welcoming and
promoting creativity from all students. Whether you create through paint, clay, music, film, graphite, or charcoal, Art
Club is a place for you to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy all in the name of art.
ASIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION – O’BRIAN
The Asian American Student Association’s purpose is to promote awareness of Asian and Asian-American cultures,
along with students who are interested in learning more about Asian cultures.
ASL CLUB – MATTSON
ASL Club is for students who want to improve the ASL skills they are developing in class! We practice ASL through
activities and games, compete against other ASL programs, and find ways to connect our students with the Deaf
community. ERHS also hosts a chapter of the national ASL Honor Society and helps members locate volunteer
opportunities to earn awards. Club members have priority access to events.
AVIATION CLUB – MR. ANDERSON
Have you ever wanted to learn how to fly? Well, you have landed on the right club! Join us to explore the world of
Aviation by flying in the full motion flight simulator and piloting a drone, activities and more! Our sole mission to
introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.
BSU – ARCENEAUX
The Black Student Union (BSU) is an organization dedicated to encouraging cultural diversity at ERHS, with special regard to students of African descent. Tuesdays in choir room
COMMUNITY SERVICE (KEY & INTERACT CLUBS) – MCMULLAN & WOLFE
We have combined Key & Interact Club to create one of the largest service organizations in our district, striving for “Service
above Self”. Come join us as we make an impact in our school and community as we partner with Rotary and Kiwanis. We
promise you will have a blast serving while building partnerships with local service organizations.
CHESS CLUB – PAUL
A chess club is a club formed for the purpose of playing the game of chess. Chess clubs often provide both informal and
tournament games.
CINEMA CLUB – HILL
Do you enjoy watching films? Would you like to learn how great films are made? Then this is the club for you! We will screen movies to
study the techniques used in filmmaking and survey major directors and genres. The club meets after school every other Wednesday in
Room 123. Advisor: Mr. Hill.
CULINARY CLUB – FANKHAUSER
Culinary club explores the cultural diversity of Emerald Ridge through food. We prepare one dish each meeting.
DECA – JAUCH
DECA gives students hands-on experience in the fields of marketing, business, and entrepreneurship. At Emerald
Ridge, Business and Marketing students apply their knowledge and skills in a hands-on experience running the
student store. Student must have current enrollment in any of the Business and Marketing classes.
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS – O’BRIAN
The club’s goal is to provide a time and place for students to play D&D games. The purpose is to have a fun
environment for making friends and help individuals improve on their game of Dungeons and Dragons. We play
games and socialize.
EMERALD REVIEW – KOCIAN/HILL
The Jagwire is the student voice of Emerald Ridge High School. The digital news source is the best place to seek
information in sports, student news or entertainment. The news site is restarting this year, and we are looking for
writers and photographers, proofreaders and designers to influence the culture and climate at ER.
E-SPORTS – JAMIESON
Esports provides every student gamer with an opportunity to find and pursue their passions through gaming and learning in
school. It provides a platform for students to develop critical skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and
resilience.
FCCLA – MUEHLENBRUCH
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a club for students who would like to get involved with
community service in school and surrounding area. See Mrs. Muehlenbruch for details
FFA – JOHNSON/DOTSON
FFA is for students interested in leadership, personal growth, and career success through plants, animals, and other
agriculture related activities. These students will have opportunities to compete at the local, district and state level. (Must be in Dotson or Johnson’s class to participate in official events)
FRENCH CLUB – FANKHAUSER
The purpose of the French Club is to provide an opportunity for socialization to students with similar interests, and to
provide cultural and linguistic enrichment based on the rich history and traditions of France and other French speaking

GERMAN CLUB – CIRHAN
Guten Tag! Are you interested in any and all things German? Come check out German club where we learn about
German- speaking culture, play games, listen to music, eat delicious food, and so much more. No German language
skills needed; all are welcome. Auf Wiedersehen!
GENEALOGY CLUB – NOLL
The Genealogy Club helps members explore their family trees through the use of free on-line resources and websites.
Come learn how publicly available information, family photos, and even DNA can help you learn more about
your ancestors and how they helped you become who you are!
GSA – GORALSKI
We are an openly accepting safe space with a primary focus on LGBTQ+ related issues and advocates for awareness
throughout our school. We seek to cooperate with other clubs to expand our group support across campus.
HOSA – MRS. SWANSON
Health Occupations Students of America is a student led organization dedicated to providing leadership
development, motivation, and recognition to students who are interested in the health professions and education.
HOSA provides opportunities for a student to make a well-informed career choice among the many health
occupations. 3rd Tuesday room 203
INTERNATIONAL CLUB – DOTSON
The mission of the school’s International Club is to offer support to our international (exchange) students by helping them develop
friendships with each other and other ERHS students. Club meetings include participating in field trips, cultural activities, tasting
ethnic foods and celebrating holidays. All students are welcome to participate to get to know our exchange students.
JAGCREW – CIRHAN
Jag Crew is “essential”! Jag Crew is an amazing group of spirited and helpful students that apply and are selected in
May of the previous year. Our current sophomores and juniors are welcome to apply in the spring of this school year.
Jag Crew candidates come from these two class years.
JESUS CLUB – SHEPARD
For Christians to express their feelings in a safe space.
KNOWLEDGE BOWL – BENDER
An academic competition for high school teams that tests their knowledge of a variety of subjects through a series of
rounds.
LATINO CLUB – MAKEUPSON/MAYNES
Promotes understanding and celebration of Hispanic culture through campus events and more.
LOS JAGUARES – BRINKER
Hispanic music group that plays Mexican genres to expand the understanding of Hispanic Culture and increase the
diversity of the ERHS music department.
MATH CLUB – PAUL
Math Club provides an opportunity for students to challenge themselves in mathematics. Students will experience fun
and challenging math problems that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students in the Math Club
participate in math competitions (Regionals and State) if they qualify.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY – LAYTON
National Honor Society creates an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulates a desire to render service, promotes worthy
leadership, and encourages the development of character in the students of ERHS. Students must have the following:
3.5 GPA, Participation in one activity of value to school or community the recommendation of two teachers Students
must also maintain a 3.5 GPA.
OLD LADIES SOCIAL HOUR – BROWN
This club meets to crochet, talk about books, cooking, gardening, movies and more…come join us for a wonderful social
hour!
PACIFIC ISLANDER CLUB – MAKUPSON
The goal of PIC is for members to leave each meeting with new knowledge, whether through enjoyable activities or serious
discussions, about the history and culture of Pacific Islanders.
ROBOTICS CLUB – MR. LEONARD
The Jagbots compete in F.I.R.S.T. (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics. We provide
students the opportunity to learn about and develop skills in engineering, pneumatics, programming, web design,
leadership, fundraising, teambuilding, business development and presentation.
SCIENCE CLUB – BENDER
Expand your awareness of science through camaraderie and competitions (Science Bowl) within our community.
SPANISH CLUB- CONNOR
The purpose of the Spanish Club is to foster interest in the Hispanic culture and to provide an opportunity to learn
more about Hispanic Culture by participating in various fun activities.
SPEECH & DEBATE – DOTSON
The mission of Speech and Debate is to teach and empower students to hold well-reasoned debates with their peers
and to improve student critical thinking and confidence in public speaking. Students will have the opportunity to learn
how to give better presentations, how to build up and break down arguments, and learn how to write passionate and
powerful speeches/performances.
TSA – HILL
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is the only student organization devoted exclusively to the needs of
students interested in technology. Members learn through exciting competitive events, leadership opportunities and
much more. Together, members work on competitive events, attend conferences on the state and national levels and
have a good time raising funds to get there.
